Natalie Mansvelt
Counselling Therapist
Natalie works with adults and couples who are battling anxiety, depression, stress, grief, relationship stress, self-esteem, life transitions, and perinatal mental health issues. She also works with school-age children and their parents/guardians to assist in working through behaviour struggles, emotional dysregulation, and major life transitions. She also has a sweet spot for parents struggling with postpartum mental illness. Her primary goal with each client is to get to know them, their unique situation, and formulate a plan together to move forward in a way that builds resilience.
Natalie likes to say that her mission when you begin counselling with her is to make you feel comfortable. Sessions should always feel like a conversation, never an interrogation. She often uses humour and works hard to build rapport with her clients. Where appropriate she will challenge you, but she will always work with you at the pace you are ready for.
Natalie completed her Master of Arts in Professional Counselling through Liberty University and graduated in 2017. Her undergrad also contained a Christian Counselling focus, so she is open to spiritual conversations with clients who wish to bring that into their counselling sessions.
Natalie has been married for 9 years and has two young boys. She is deep in the busy parent stage, so primary hobby right now is taking care of her children. When she gets a moment to herself she loves to read a good book, nap, bake, or binge her favourite sitcoms and reality shows. Natalie is now accepting new clients (kids, teens, couples, individuals, families) for either in person or virtual sessions.
