Kim Bremner
Counselling Therapist
Kim received her Masters in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. Becoming a therapist later in life has given her a unique perspective, allowing her to empathize with clients on a deeply genuine level which evolved through overcoming her own life challenges. Through her own experiences, she has cultivated an understanding that she brings into her practice with the ability to meet clients where they are at and genuinely portraying unconditional positive regard, acceptance, and care in every interaction.
Her approach is rooted in Emotion-Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), which guides clients through meaningful exploration of experiences and emotions to foster a secure sense of self and connection with others. This experiential process is aimed not only at symptom relief but also at personality growth and greater openness toward oneself and others. She also uses Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help clients uncover hidden parts and discover their true sense of self.
She works with clients facing relationship issues, depression, anxiety, addiction, or those feeling stuck or overwhelmed in life. Believing that we need to feel to heal, she is committed to creating a safe, non-judgmental, and supportive environment where her unconditional positive regard is palpable.
In her spare time, Kim loves spending time with her two teenage boys, cheering them on at hockey games and go-kart racing. Kim also finds joy in trips to sunny destinations, days at the beach, camping adventures, and her newest passion—’cold plunges’ in lakes or the ocean. Kim loves activities that allow her to connect with others, share laughter, and unwind. She is also actively and passionately involved in ‘Recovery Church,’ a community offering support to those struggling with addiction or in recovery.
